The young people at Holtze Youth Detention Centre celebrated International Women’s Day with activities sparking creativity, reflection, and connection, providing an opportunity to show appreciation for the important women in their lives.

The Corrections’ infrastructure masterplan is progressing on schedule and in some cases, ahead of schedule with thanks to the dedication of our staff, contributions of prisoners, and the support of key stakeholders, including trades who are all working tirelessly to finalise current projects and commence new works across multiple corrections sites. With the help and support or our teams, we are working rapidly to deliver a more connected and efficient corrections system that will serve our communities for years to come.

In an important step to provide relief and support to custodial operations, the Northern Territory Department of Corrections has entered into a partnership with G4S, a leader in custodial services. This was the outcome of a rapid, robust and thorough procurement process to engage an external supplier for roles outside of our prisons.
