Bail Support Facilities

The Northern Territory Government is addressing youth crime and keeping offenders accountable through the immediate development of 3 bail support facilities.

Locations

The bail support facilities are located in:

  • Darwin,
  • Tennant Creek and
  • Alice Springs.

Combined services

Department of Corrections partners with the Department of Education, other key stakeholders and service providers to ensure these facilities provide services that support young people who have entered the youth justice system with safe, supervised accommodation, support education and training opportunities within their local community whilst addressing risk factors associated with offending.

Supported Accommodation Service

For young people who are on bail and/or require access to supported accommodation and associated services.

Sentenced Order Program

For young people who have been sentenced to reside at the facility, to receive education and training in a supervised and supported environment.

The services provides:

  • The courts with more options for sentencing young people to a supervised and structured program
  • Local education and training opportunities to assist young people into work; and
  • Support to engage in learning, develop life skills and become positive members of our community.
