Youth complete first boot camp in Darwin for 2026

The Department of Corrections has partnered with Balanced Choice to deliver the first youth boot camp in Darwin for 2026, providing young people on bail with structure, accountability and the skills to make better choices.

The 3 day boot camp, focused on physical fitness, wellness, self-discipline and values-based thinking.

Five youths took part in a range of daily activities including:

• a circus-skills workshop
• nature walk at East Point
• group fitness sessions.

Youth boot camps are designed to tackle the root causes of offending while supporting rehabilitation and reintegration and are delivered in partnership with local organisations, elders and youth justice staff.

Balanced Choice will deliver a total of 9 youth boot camps across Darwin this year.
